Thyroid and Adrenals

I just got my saliva cortisol test back and the results were normal. I am so puzzled about what to do about my thyroid now!

My T3 and Reverse T3 ratio is 2.7 and normal is 10 or higher. I have a lot of hypothyroid symptoms which could be explained by my T3/RT3 ratio but I haven't been able to tolerate T3 and being on a low dose for a year my ratio got worse. This led me to think my adrenals were off but they're not. Now I'm stuck about what to do and more importantly who to turn to. The main stream medical community seems to have no answers.

  1. :( Sorry to hear this. Have they done a full thyroid panel? Are you taking any other thyroid meds besides the low dose T3?

  2. That last statement seems really true about a lot of things, doesn't it? I don't have any idea what a next step would be, but I hope you will get some people who do know give you some ideas!

  5. Has Sew taken on your case? If not, you should ask her what she thinks. :)

  6. I found myself rereading your blog this morning and can't believe I missed this post the first time through. Wow - we're really just a couple months off from each other on this particular topic. I'm also frustrated about thyroid treatment and salivary cortisol test result interpretation.

Even though my doctor 'assumes' my test is fine because my 'values are in the green normal area on the graph', I just can't buy that logic. Everything I'm reading elsewhere tells me something is wrong - and of course my symptoms don't lie.

Anyhow, just wanted you to know that I'm praying very specific thyroid and adrenal prayers over here right now and including you by name. <3
